The development of the human brain, the most complex biological structure, is a fascinating area of research that has speeded up these recent years to new levels of understanding. Paralleled by our increased knowledge in genomics and gene networks controlling the cellular programs of the large variety of cell-types composing the brain, the applications seems to be at our reach to try to develop treatments to a broad range of brain pathologies, ranging from Autism Spectrum Disorder, preterm birth brain injury, to neurodegenerative and neuroimmunological diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. We are lucky to live this fascinating times and be able to do research in these areas.
